This is the first of what I hope becomes a weekly feature called “Don’t laugh” where I point out something that I find hilarious, even though some in our politically correct society may find it inappropriate. It could be something I heard on the street, something a comedian or politician (redundant?) said, a scene from a movie, whatever. Without further ado, let’s begin…
“I WORK WITH RETARDS”
Who hasn’t had this thought — or worse — bounce around in their brains on occasion? We all know that without a doubt, our co-workers who are smarter than us are annoying know-it-alls, and those who are dumber are retards right?
But in the movie There’s Something About Mary, the character played by Matt Dillon means it literally. In trying to impress Mary (Cameron Diaz), and knowing she has a brother who is “slow”, Dillon talks about his charitable work with the developmentally disabled.
Watch as he clumsily puts his foot in his mouth time and time again, yet somehow manages to leave a favorable impression. Poor, poor Mongo. Good stuff!
